I've been practising making scones! There is a reason for this, my scone making is not renowned and hubby and I decided to invite some family and friends around for a fund raising cream tea :-). As a thank you to the Haematology Centre where I recently had treatment, we want to raise some money for them to buy extra equipment etc. I've been given a fool proof recipe by a friend, and this is a record of my renewed attempt, Recipe for Scones (Check you have all ingredients and utensils ready before you begin!) 16oz (400g) Self Raising Flour 1 level tsp (teaspoon) salt 4oz (100g) Caster Sugar 1/2 pint Milk Milk or Beaten Egg for Glazing 4oz (100g) Margarine or Butter Lemon Juice Sift the flour and salt into a bowl Rub in the butter finely Add the sugar and mix in Warm milk in microwave and add a squirt of lemon juice Add the milk all at once.
